- ICE Adventure FS, front and rear suspension, fully equipped (rear rack, mudguards, neckrest), - Transmission : Sram 9 shifters, 22/24/44 triple and 11-34 cassette. Short cranks (152 mm), - Sturmey Archer drum brakes (very reliable), |
- Marathon Plus 20x1.75 tyres. I first thought about using a BMX tyre at the rear for better traction on rough roads but after some tests (Schwable Jumping Jack and Maxxis Max Daddy), I wasn't convinced (too noisy and slow on tarmac). 1 spare tyre : Schwalbe Supreme 20x1,6 folding, light (325gr). All the tyres are provided by ICE.

- Side bare with a handlebar bag on the left :

- ICE rack :
|
- Tools and spares : nothing out of the ordinary (pump, spare inner tube, patch kit, tyre levers, chain tool and a few chainlinks, brake cable, derailleur cable, a few allen keys, screwdriver, 1 multifuntion Leatherman Juice CS4 knife, hypercracker, a few screws, duct tape, etc). I'll also take a spare rear derailleur.
I have eventually made up my mind on a luggage solution : a pair of fully waterproof rear panniers plus a pair of Radical Design side pods.
- Shimano MT-91 shoes SPD-trekking with stiff Vibram sole
- Aluminium crampons
- Light ice axe
- Light harness
- 40 litre backpack (Jam2)
- Tent : at the moment, I still haven't decided. I have an ageing Mountain Hardwear Sprite 1. I am tempted by a Terra Nova, a Vaude Hogan Ultralight or the new Hubba in green, but they are off-budget at this time,
- Sleeping bag : I have an old Vallandré Swing 900, 1.3kg, cuin 650, comfort T° around -7°/-8°C, already used it by -15°C (had to sleep with thick underwear and a down jacket). Not warm enough at -20°C. I'd like to get a Triple Zero (Barbat 700 ou Astagou 800), but also off-budget at the moment. I'm also looking at Valllandré's Schocking Blue and Rab's 800. Otherwise, I'll buy a second sleeping bag in Kashgar to go on top of the Swing (cheap but heavy solution),
- Matress : Thermarest Prolite 3 short (or possibly a Neo Air),
- Multifuel stove : Whispelite International + Evernew 1.3 litre cooking pot.
